About 40 percent of the listings are independent villas and farmhouses, including two castles and two towers.

Prices vary by the season. In July-August they range from about $600 per week for a small apartment to $10,545 per week for a film director's estate that sleeps 26 to 35. The median range in high season is about $1,000-$2,000 per week.
